Overview
The Chief Finance Officer (CFO) at Transport for London (TfL) oversees the organisation''s budget to ensure sustainable funding for short-, medium- and long-term goals, including delivering the Mayor''s Transport Strategy. The CFO ensures financial stewardship across TfL''s business plan and Investment Programme and leads the Procurement and Commercial, Technology Products, and Operations functions. The role also shapes TfL''s Technology and Revenue Strategy. As a member of TfL''s Executive Committee and the Commissioner''s leadership team, the CFO shares collective accountability for strategic decision-making and the overall management of TfL.Responsibilities
Lead financial planning and analysis to inform TfL''s strategic decisions.Secure multi-year funding to support long-term financial sustainability.Oversee the financial aspects of the TfL business plan in collaboration with the Chief Customer and Strategy Officer.Build and maintain relationships with financial institutions, rating agencies, and major businesses.Provide strategic direction for Procurement and Commercial, ensuring robust governance and standards.Co-develop the Technology Strategy, ensuring resilient tech solutions and cost-efficient operations.Champion TfL''s values, drive positive change and foster an inclusive, high-performing culture.Represent TfL to stakeholders, media and the public as needed.
