As a Technical Client Consultant, you will act as the technical liaison between clients, business development, and operations teams. You’ll support client conversations with in-depth technical knowledge, helping translate client requirements into scalable manufacturing solutions. Your focus is on enabling successful project delivery and long-term client partnerships through collaborative problem-solving. Technical Consultation: Partner with engineering and operations to understand the organisation’s capabilities and frame them as solutions to client challenges.Lead and participate in client-facing discovery sessions, technical calls, and solution workshops.Translate complex technical concepts into commercially viable proposals that are easy to understand and compelling for decision-makers.Proposal Development
Lead the technical side of RFQ/RFP responses, including feasibility analysis and pricing strategy, with input from technical and project delivery teams.Develop technical overviews of the organisation’s engineering and material capabilities to support proposals and sales tools.Ensure proposals reflect both the client’s needs and the organisation’s operational capacity, with a clear path to scale.Account Management Support
Build strong technical rapport with new and existing clients, becoming a trusted resource.Ensure seamless handover from business development to project delivery teams, staying involved to support project continuity and future opportunity spotting.Work alongside account managers to identify and develop upsell opportunities based on technical fit.Stay current on trends in medical device materials, converting technologies, and manufacturing innovation.Feed actionable insights into product development, marketing, and strategic planning teams.Benchmark the organisation’s capabilities and approach against competitors to help inform continuous improvement.Skills we are looking for
3+ years’ experience in B2B sales, technical consulting, or account management, ideally within medical devices or life sciences.Proven background in medical manufacturing processes such as converting, cleanroom assembly, or packaging.Strong communicator — able to translate technical detail into clear, commercially relevant conversations.Confident discussing pricing, cost drivers, and scalable manufacturing strategies.Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks (e.g. ISO 13485, MDR, FDA) and how they impact client requirements.Skilled at managing technical client relationships from discovery through to production.Comfortable leading technical reviews and cross-functional discussions.Familiar with CRM and project tracking tools.Organised, proactive, and solutions-focused, able to handle complexity and change.Willing and able to travel internationally to support client meetings, technical workshops, and site visits.Why join our client
