Finance Operations Manager

As Finance Operations Manager you will play a key role in the business, being accountable for all financial tasks, transforming our financial processes through automation and technology whilst providing crucial financial insights to support our growth. You will serve as the financial backbone, combining operational excellence with strategic financial analysis.RoleManage the groups income and expenditure processes and teams, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), cash management, bank and debtor reconciliations. This will include:Team Supervision:Oversee and guide the Accounts Payable and Receivable teams, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and efficiently, and providing support to resolve complex issues.Training and Development:Provide training and guidance to your team to enhance their skills and performance.Oversee Invoice and Payment Procedures: Schedule and oversee invoice processing and payment runs ensuring accuracy, compliance with controls and policies, and timely payment to suppliers according to agreed terms.Oversee Billing and Invoicing Procedures: Ensure accuracy, compliance with controls and policies, and timely receipt from customers according to agreed terms.Reconciliations:Ensure full and accurate reconciliation of all supplier and debtor balances on a monthly basis or more often when required. Complete bank reconciliations.Reporting:Generate and review accounts payable and receivable reports (e.g., aging reports, cash flow forecasts, vendor performance metrics) to identify potential issues, liaising directly with management accounts team and Finance director to quickly resolve any problems.Expense Reimbursements:Review and process corporate cards and employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policy and efficient processing of reimbursements.Month-End and Year-End Closing:Coordinate and oversee the period end closing processes for accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate reporting and timely balance sheet reconciliations.Compliance and Internal Controls:Develop, maintain and monitor robust financial controls over all cash management processes to prevent fraud and ensure compliance with company policies and audit requirements.Process Improvement:Identify and implement opportunities to streamline and automate accounts payable processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy, including the use of AI and other technology.Vendor Relations:Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status, resolve discrepancies, and maintain strong vendor relationships through professional and effective communication.Vendor Negotiations:Identify opportunities to negotiate better payment terms with vendors to improve cash flow management and optimize financial performance.Working capital management:Implement strategies to efficiently manage working capital, balancing receivables and payables.Tax compliance: Ensure compliance with UK tax regulations (VAT, PAYE, corporation tax)RequirementsExperience of managing accounts payable and/or accounts receivable teamsPrior experience implementing financial process automationExperience providing financial analysis that has driven business decisionsExpert-level Excel skills including complex formulas, pivot tables and data visualisationAbility to create clear financial reportsKnowledge of financial controls and compliance requirementsAwareness of AI applications in financial operations and the value they can addBenefits and Training:50% off your food bill at all Gaucho restaurantsReferral and Length of Service BonusesIncentive and reward schemesCycle to work schemes and discounted gym membershipRARE BenefitsIndustry Apprenticeship Program OpportunitiesCareer Development and Training ProgramsTraining provided by the Rare L.A.B28 paid annual holidays + options to purchase additional days
