GENERAL MANAGER - £44-48k per Year INC TRONC + Quarterly BonusThe Cheese Bar are looking for an experienced General Manager to join and lead the Front of House team at our restaurant The Cheese Barge, Paddington Central.Were dedicated to celebrating the best in British Cheese, working with suppliers from all around the country to create our signature grilled cheese sandwiches and other classic cheese-focused dishes
all seasonal and made with the best quality produce. We''re busy year-round, so youll need energy and a positive attitude to succeed in our small but enthusiastic and determined team.The Cheese Barge is on a 30m custom-built barge with a 40-cover restaurant and roof terrace. The Cheese Barge features a refined offering of seasonal small and sharing plates, with British cheese remaining the focus, alongside small producer wines, craft beer, cider and cocktails.Were looking for someone with previous GM experience, whos highly organised and commercially minded but who also knows how to manage people to get the best out of their team. Youll be responsible for ensuring the experience of our guests is second to none, monitoring and maintaining Drink GP and Staff Cost thresholds, and ensuring a positive working relationship across the entire restaurant

If this sounds like you, please get in touch.Key Responsibilities:- Responsible for all FOH operations and management duties at The Cheese Barge- Paddington- Deliver the company steps of service to the highest standard, creating positive experiences for our guests and colleagues- Lead the FOH team, hiring, motivating and managing staff of all levels and working with company HR to ensure full training on products, hygiene and HandS standards- Maintain positive relationships and workflow within FOH team and between FOH and BOH, working closely with the Head Chef- Attend regular financial and management meetings with the Head of Operations and the company Founder, Mathew to discuss and oversee the wellbeing and growth of the site- Continuously improve product knowledge and understanding of our company ethos, conveying this to our guests where possible.- Promote a positive perception of the company at all times, both internally and externally.Benefits:- 28 days holiday per year- Monthly British cheese box- Quarterly Bonus- Producer visits- Free staff meals and trader discounts- 50% off meals on your days off- Full training and tastings, including Academy of Cheese qualifications- Regular staff socialsRequirements:- 2 years+ GM experience- Solid wine and food knowledge (British cheese knowledge a bonus but not essential)- Highly organised, proactive and uses initiative- Experienced and skilled at managing, building and motivating a team- Ability to read and understand a PandL statement- Superior customer service skills- Thrives in a busy, fast-paced working environment
