My client is a growing, fast-paced Managed Service Provider (MSP) delivering IT support, cloud solutions, and infrastructure projects to a wide range of clients across the UK. The team thrives on collaboration, learning, and solving real-world technical problems with a people-first approach.

We''re looking for a 2nd Line Engineer whos ready for that next step someone with the drive and capability to progress into a 3rd Line / Senior Engineer role, with full support and development along the way.

The Opportunity

This is an ideal role for a technically strong 2nd Line Engineer who wants to deepen their skills and step into more advanced project work, escalations, and architecture discussions.

Youll work alongside experienced 3rd line engineers and have access to structured development, hands-on mentoring, and real progression opportunities all while supporting a variety of clients and technologies in a dynamic MSP environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality 2nd line support to clients across a range of industriesTroubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to desktops, servers, networking, and cloud systemsAct as an escalation point for the 1st line teamSupport infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and deployment projectsAssist with onboarding new clients and maintaining their environmentsDocument fixes and maintain accurate client records in the service desk systemCollaborate with 3rd line engineers and project teams to expand your technical exposureProactively identify recurring issues and suggest improvements

What Were Looking For

Proven experience in a 2nd Line IT Support role, ideally within an MSPSolid knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows Server (2016+), Active Directory, DNS/DHCPExperience with Azure (e.g. Azure AD, basic VM management, Intune)Good networking fundamentals: firewalls, switching, VPNsFamiliarity with backup solutions (e.g. Veeam, Datto), RMM tools, and remote troubleshootingA strong desire to develop your technical skillset and move into a senior/3rd line positionExcellent customer service and communication skillsFull UK driving licence (client visits required)
