About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Multimodal Freight & Customs Operator to join a busy operations team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will coordinate international shipments, manage customs clearances, and support road and warehouse logistics projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate full door-to-door FCL shipments with overseas agents
• Arrange vessel bookings and coordinate collection from shippers’ premises
• Review and manage shipping documentation including Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists
• Track shipments and maintain accurate customer updates
• Oversee supplier invoicing, customer billing, and incidental cost tracking
• Support inbound shipments for a 3PL warehouse project in Germany
• Prepare UK import and export customs declarations
• Assist with road freight coordination for European exports and UK imports
• Maintain operational records, KPI reporting, and shipment visibility across systems

Essential

• Experience in ocean freight forwarding and UK import/export customs declarations
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities
• Comfortable using IT systems and learning new software

Desirable

• Experience with road freight forwarding
• Exposure to CFSP customs clearance processes
• Experience with warehouse management systems
• Scope, CNS, Destin8, e-Customs by Descartes
