Job Title: Accounts Assistant
Location: Derby
Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 (DOE) Study Support
Working Pattern: Full-time, Office-Based (Some flexibility available)

We’re working exclusively with a successful and growing business in Derby to recruit an Accounts Assistant. This is an outstanding opportunity for someone who’s hungry to learn, develop their finance knowledge, and grow within a team that genuinely supports progression.

This is far more than just a basic admin role. You’ll be part of a collaborative and knowledgeable finance team that will actively help you develop — through hands-on training, exposure to varied tasks, and mentorship from experienced professionals.

You’ll build a foundation across key areas of finance and be encouraged to step up and take on more as you grow in confidence and capability.

• Assist with reconciliations and financial reporting

• Post invoices, payments, and journals

• Help prepare accurate working papers and support documentation

• Take ownership of recurring and administrative finance tasks

• Maintain clear, organised records and files for internal review

• Collaborate with internal teams and support process improvements

• Experience in a finance or accounts role (or relevant admin background)

• Some exposure to finance processes such as reconciliations or invoicing

• Strong Excel skills (e.g., sorting, formulas, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)

• Studying AAT or looking to start qualifications (Preferred)

• A proactive, positive attitude and a real desire to learn
