Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Location: Central London
Salary: -35,000 - -45,000 + Package (DOE)

PSR Solutions are currently recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor on behalf of a leading Tier 2 Main Contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects across London and the South East.

Due to a strong pipeline of secured work, our client is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a flagship student accommodation development in Central London. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor and gain exposure to a landmark Central London project.

Reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager, you will support the commercial delivery of the project from procurement through to final account.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the procurement and management of subcontract packages
• Preparing and issuing subcontract documentation
• Processing subcontractor applications and payments
• Assisting with cost reporting, forecasting and budget control
• Managing variations and change control procedures
• Supporting the preparation of client valuations and applications for payment
• Monitoring project costs and identifying commercial risks
• Maintaining accurate commercial records and project documentation
• Assisting with final accounts and project close-out activities

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
• Previous experience working for a Main Contractor in a Quantity Surveying role
• Experience working on building projects within the residential, student accommodation, commercial, mixed-use or education sectors
• Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures
• Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across project teams
• Ambitious and motivated with a desire to progress their career within a leading contractor environment

• Salary of -35,000 - -45,000 dependent on experience
