07:30-16:00 standard working week, no overtime. 

Salary: £34,000 per annum (17.00 per hour)

Poolhall Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our manufacturing client, a well-established, family-run structural steel business, for an experienced MIG Welder / Fabricator to join their growing team.

About the Company

The business specialises in the manufacture of:

• Heavy-duty fencing systems

• Structural steel frameworks

• Secondary steelwork including gates, railings, walkways, staircases, and balustrades

They are known for their quality of workmanship and long-standing reputation within the industry.

Role & Responsibilities

• MIG welding and fabrication of structural and secondary steelwork

• Manufacturing components such as beams, gates, staircases, balustrades, walkways, and frameworks

• Working on heavy-duty fencing systems

• Carrying out multi-run MIG welding (up to 25mm – advantageous)

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings

• Producing work to a high standard of accuracy and finish

• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment

Essential Experience & Skills

• Proven experience as a MIG Welder / Fabricator

• Strong background in structural steel fabrication

• Experience fabricating structural and secondary steelwork

• Ability to carry out heavy-duty MIG welding, including multi-run welds

• Confident reading and working from engineering drawings

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

• Good understanding of health & safety practices

Desirable Experience

• Experience fabricating gates and structural frameworks

• Previous work to BS EN 1090 standards (EXC2 / EXC3)

• Experience with heavy-duty fencing systems

• Background in large structural or portal frame projects
