Head of Warehousing, Logistics & Facilities

Salary: £58,000 - £62,000 per annum
Reporting To: Head of Operations

Working Hours:

• Monday to Thursday: 6:30am – 4:45pm
• Friday: 6:30am – 12:30pm

We are seeking an experienced and driven Head of Warehousing, Logistics & Facilities to lead and transform our warehousing, logistics, dispatch, installation, and facilities functions.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the overall leadership and performance of:

• Inbound Warehouse Operations
• Outbound Warehouse Operations
• Dispatch Office Function
• Installation Teams
• Logistics and Transport Operations
• Facilities Management
• EU Export Compliance

The role currently includes an experienced Dispatch Office Manager overseeing the dispatch team and installation crews, alongside an Outbound Warehouse Team Leader. The successful candidate will provide strategic direction, leadership, and accountability across all areas while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership

• Lead all warehouse operations, including goods-in, storage, inventory management, and dispatch.
• Ensure efficient and effective management of inbound and outbound logistics activities.
• Drive operational performance through clear KPI management and accountability.
• Develop and implement strategies that improve service levels, productivity, and cost efficiency.

Logistics & Distribution

• Oversee transport planning and delivery operations.
• Manage relationships with carriers, freight providers, and logistics partners.
• Monitor performance and identify opportunities to improve customer service and delivery reliability.
• Negotiate supplier agreements and achieve cost-effective logistics solutions.

Export & Customs Compliance

• Ensure full compliance with EU export regulations and customs requirements.
• Manage export documentation, customs procedures, and freight forwarding relationships.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure all shipments meet regulatory requirements.
• Stay informed of changing trade legislation and implement required operational adjustments.

Facilities Management

• Lead the management and maintenance of company facilities, warehouses, and operational sites.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, environmental, and building regulations.
• Manage service contracts, supplier relationships, and facilities budgets.
• Drive sustainability and energy-efficiency initiatives where appropriate.

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop operational teams and departmental managers.
• Build a culture of accountability, engagement, continuous improvement, and safety.
• Support succession planning and employee development across the function.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify and implement opportunities for process optimisation and operational efficiencies.
• Drive lean methodologies and best practice across warehousing and logistics operations.
• Evaluate automation opportunities and support business growth through scalable operational solutions.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced operational leader with a strong background in warehousing, logistics, and supply chain management.

You will have:

• Proven experience leading multi-functional warehouse and logistics operations.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management, transport operations, and supply chain best practices.
• Experience managing facilities and operational infrastructure.
• Good understanding of EU export procedures, customs documentation, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent leadership, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and delivering cost savings.
• Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, and operational reporting tools.
• A continuous improvement mindset with a track record of driving positive change.

Experience & Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, Business, or a related discipline preferred.
• Minimum 8 years'' experience within warehousing and logistics environments.
• At least 3 years'' experience in a senior leadership role with responsibility for multiple operational functions.
