Role Overview

Reporting To: Pre-Construction Director / Project DirectorSalary £75,000 Plus Package.We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Design Manager to lead the design process across multiple high-quality construction projects. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating design information between internal teams, clients, consultants, and subcontractors, ensuring design deliverables meet project requirements, timelines, and budgets.Key Responsibilities

Manage the design process from pre-construction through to project completion.Lead design meetings and workshops with clients, consultants, and project teams.Coordinate design information between architects, structural engineers, MandE consultants, and specialist subcontractors.Review design drawings, specifications, and documentation for compliance and buildability.Identify and mitigate design risks, resolving conflicts and discrepancies early.Ensure timely release of information to meet project programme milestones.Provide technical support during tendering and procurement stages.Work collaboratively with commercial and construction teams to ensure cost-effective, buildable design solutions.Maintain up-to-date design registers, trackers, and RFI logs.Ensure all designs comply with relevant statutory regulations, planning permissions, and client requirements.Contribute to value engineering exercises and sustainability targets.Required Skills and Experience

Proven experience in a similar Design Manager role within the construction industry.Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, planning processes, and construction methods.Excellent communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.Strong technical background - ideally with a degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management.Proficient in reading and interpreting drawings and technical documents.Ability to manage multiple projects and design packages concurrently.Competent in design and project management software (AutoCAD, Revit, Asta/Primavera/MS Project, etc.).Proactive, solution-driven, and commercially aware.What We Offer
