Location: Solihull, West Midlands
Salary: £60,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week plus on-call duties
About the CompanyThis brand new children s residential home in Solihull is being developed in partnership with a consultancy firm and owned by qualified clinicians. The home is designed to provide a therapeutic, safe, and nurturing environment for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Manager to lead this newly established 3-bed children s home. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in setting up and registering new homes with Ofsted, as well as managing ongoing operations in line with statutory requirements and best practice. You will be responsible for creating a calm, supportive environment that prioritises children s wellbeing, safety, and development.
Responsibilities
Lead the setup and registration of the new children s home with Ofsted, including policy development, staff recruitment, and training
Ensure full compliance with the Children s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Ofsted standards
Manage the daily operations of the home, including overseeing care delivery and ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed support
Recruit, train, and lead a skilled, motivated, and compassionate staff team
Act as the Registered Manager, responsible for regulatory inspections, safeguarding, and maintaining excellent relationships with external agencies
Build strong partnerships with social workers, health professionals, education providers, and local authorities
Foster a positive culture focused on learning, continuous improvement, and emotional safety for children and staff
Person Specification / Requirements
Minimum of 2 years experience as a Registered Manager in a children s residential home, ideally with experience in setting up and registering new homes with Ofsted
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or working towards completion
Comprehensive knowledge of Children s Homes Regulations 2015, safeguarding, and trauma-informed care principles
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills with the ability to motivate and support a multidisciplinary team
Resilient, emotionally intelligent, and committed to providing high-quality, child-centred care
