Warehouse Manager

Our client, is a leading provider of comprehensive logistics and supply chain solutions, specialising in airfreight, warehousing, and distribution services, are looking to recruit a talented Warehouse Manager to be based at their warehouse facilities, in the London, Heathrow area.

Main Purpose of the Role:
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of the warehouse facility, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and managing staff and resources effectively. This role involves maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and operational efficiency while meeting customer and company standards.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Warehouse Manager:
Warehouse Operations:
- Ensure safe and secure handling and storage of all cargo, adhering to regulatory and customer requirements.
- Accurately record all cargo movements in the system, in line with ASN SOP, and maintain orderly documentation.
- Maintain a service failure log, documenting root cause analysis and preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
- Implement and manage site security rules, ensuring all staff adhere to directives.
- Maintain cleanliness and order within and outside the warehouse.
- Ensure physical inventory matches WMS data, including quantity and bin location.
- Monitor compliance with Health and Safety protocols, ensuring adherence by warehouse staff and visitors.
- Implement and monitor BRC standards to ensure product safety, quality, and legality.
- Ensure compliance with ETSF accreditation requirements.
- Oversee pick and pack processes and distribution according to SOP.
- Keep aisles clear and ensure proper storage and labelling of pallets.
Health and Safety:
- Maintain best practices in health and safety, working with consultants to address hazards and risks.
- Ensure all Health and Safety certifications are current and compliance checks are timely.
- Ensure facility and operational processes comply with regulatory standards (ETSF, AEO, Defra, IATA, Customs, BRC).
- Conduct site reviews and audits to identify improvements and implement corrective actions.
- Complete forklift checklists, ensuring safety before use, and ensure all forklift operators have valid licenses.
- Document incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive actions.
- Serve as the radiation protection supervisor and CAA Test Manager.
- Act as the key holder and first responder in emergencies.
To Be Considered:
- Proven leadership experience in warehouse operations within the Freight Forwarding sector
- Experience of handling perishable shipment is highly desirable
- Relevant qualifications in Logistics, Warehousing, or Health and Safety
- Proficiency in warehouse management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Adaptability to changing requirements and willingness to work outside regular hours as needed.
- Strong focus on safety, compliance, and operational efficiency
