Quality Systems Officer (QA and QC)

Overview
An exciting opportunity within the Pharmacy QA team to support the provision of Pharmacy Quality Assurance services. The role supports the Pharmacy Lead QA and QC and the Senior QA Specialist in managing, delivering and developing QA and QC services to the Trust and external sites.The successful candidate will have experience in quality assurance and aseptic production, change management, risk management, and audit. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), QA, QC and current regulations is essential to develop and maintain quality systems. The role collaborates with the QA team to deliver high-quality QA and Technical services at the hospital.Main duties
As a member of the Pharmacy QA Team, demonstrate experience in Pharmaceutical Microbiology related to cleanrooms and knowledge to support the QC Microbiology and Chemistry teams. Provide quality assurance in a senior or mid-management capacity. Serve as a releasing officer for batches manufactured under the Trust''s MHRA Specials license (Prepack, Non-sterile, Radiopharmacy). Training will be provided if needed for the right candidate. The Pharmacy department holds a WDA(H) license and an MHRA Specials licence for Prepack, Radiopharmacy and Non-sterile departments. Work with a team of quality professionals to provide QA services to internal and external users and contribute to the day-to-day delivery of high-quality services meeting regulatory, safety and financial targets.About us

The position requires a degree in pharmacy, pharmaceutical science, or other relevant scientific subject, or registration as a Pharmacy Technician. Candidates should have excellent communication, be well-organised, able to motivate a team, show initiative, forward-thinking and strong attention to detail. Essential: Degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Science, Chemistry, Microbiology or other relevant scientific discipline OR NVQ Pharmacy Services Level 3 or equivalent. Desirable: Master\''s in Pharmacy (MPharm); MSc/Diploma in PTQA; GPhC registration; RPS or APTUK membership; further qualification in relevant technical or management area.Experience
Essential: Demonstrable experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing (including aseptic manufacturing), external audits, QC/QA environments, staff management, and strong QA/Production knowledge; understanding of aseptic/parenteral principles. Desirable: Staff training experience; MHRA licence experience; hosting external auditors; knowledge of Hospital Pharmacy Technical Services; presentations/publications.Knowledge and Skills
Essential: Aseptic preparation and GMP; current legislation and guidelines in QA for pharmaceutical manufacture; understanding of regional priorities in pharmaceutical QA. Skills: problem identification and root-cause analysis; project management; staff management; clear communication; promotion of best practice; development of new systems of work. Desirable: supervisory and training skills; presentation skills; ability to write business cases.Other information
