Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, 37 Hours per week

Responsibilities

• Arrange emergency and temporary accommodation placements, making appropriate referrals into supported accommodation promptly, ensuring optimal use of available housing stock.
• Make property offers in accordance with Housing legislation and make informed decisions to discharge duty, ensuring these decisions can withstand legal scrutiny.
• Coordinate available properties in the private rented sector and work with Housing Caseworkers to identify high-priority households for Direct Lets to prevent and relieve homelessness.
• Ensure high-quality property offers, suitability, and discharge of duty decisions are made promptly for temporary and private rented accommodations.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines, allocating accommodation based on need and ensuring all offers are suitable.
• Contribute proactively to the council’s action plan to reduce the number of households in temporary accommodation by monitoring and maximizing move-on opportunities from temporary and supported housing.
• Maintain accurate records of individuals in emergency, temporary, and supported housing, and compile statistical information for local and central government reports.

Person Specification

• Working knowledge of Part 7, S193, S188, and discharge of duty.
