Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
The Role
You will be responsible for performing both preventative and reactive maintenance on a variety of machinery and equipment. This role involves troubleshooting mechanical issues, conducting repairs, and ensuring that all machinery operates efficiently and safely. The senior fitter will also be expected to lead projects around efficiency improvements, cost reductions and safety improvements.

Main Responsibilities
• Maintenance & Repairs: Perform routine and non-routine maintenance and repair work on all machinery, equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical and /or system faults and issues using technical knowledge and diagnostic tools to implement effective solutions.
• Installation: support the Facilities Manager in the installation and assembly of machinery, systems and equipment, ensuring proper alignment and functioning.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while carrying out maintenance tasks to ensure a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures, in particular machine safety requirements including the Machine Acceptance Procedure and PUWER compliance including training requirements.
• Upgrades & Improvements: Assist in the implementation of equipment upgrades and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
• Ensure all backups are completed regularly and to the right standard for all machinery hardware.
• Collaboration/Teamwork: Work closely with other maintenance team members, engineers, production staff and technology team to address and resolve technical issues.
• Inspect machines regularly for signs of malfunction and this will include both visual and sound inspections to ensure quality, safety and productive are at the standards of a centre of excellence
• Lead CAPEX projects where needed across all sites
• Work with Quality team on any X door related issues, providing support on both new set up’s and assistance to the shop floor where needed
• Work with the cell Managers on any training requirements needed
• Work alongside production on any samples or Ad hoc orders which are needed
• Operate machinery as and when required
Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
The Candidate
• Ideally be time served in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Understanding and working to technical drawings.
• Must have bench craft skills.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing role, ideally within furniture.
• Have an understanding of PUWER and general H&S regulations.
• Experience of managing PPM schedules.
• Must be mechanically biased
• Ideally have some knowledge of electrics and electrical systems.
