OverviewUniversity of the Arts London (UAL) is seeking to appoint a Senior Project Manager to lead the planning and delivery of transformative capital projects across its estate portfolio. The role involves managing projects typically in the £0.5m to £15m range, including refurbishment, fit-out, maintenance and sustainability initiatives, and reporting to the Head of Projects.

About UAL and Estates ProgrammeUAL is a global leader in creativity, innovation, and invention across the knowledge economy. It comprises six Colleges and four Institutes across London, with a diverse community of over 20,000 students from more than 130 countries. The University is delivering a 10-year Estates Strategy, with campuses and estate transformation projects across London and a pipeline of investment through to 2030 (over £100m planned investment). The annual Long-Term Maintenance programme is circa £9m.

Responsibilities

Lead planning and delivery of a diverse range of capital and maintenance projects across the UAL estate portfolio.

Manage projects typically in the £0.5m to £15m range, including refurbishment, fit-out, maintenance and sustainability projects.

Collaborate with stakeholders from across Colleges and Institutes, ensuring projects meet time, budget, quality and sustainability targets.

Ensure delivery in line with the University’s Size and Shape strategy, Net Zero commitments, and long-term operational sustainability.

Provide leadership at RIBA stages and maintain strong interpersonal and communication skills within the project team and with external advisors.

Qualifications and requirements

Proven track record of leading complex capital and maintenance projects across a range of building types.

Strong technical knowledge across the project lifecycle developed through RIBA stages.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; high level of positivity and energy; alignment with UAL’s impact-focused ethos.
