SEN Support Worker – Basingstoke | Full-Time | Term-Time Role

Basingstoke & surrounding areas | Paid to scale based on experience | 8:30am – 3:30pm | 5 days per week

GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Support Worker to support children with additional needs across inclusive schools in and around Basingstoke.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, caring, and passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN / SEND).

The Role
As a SEN Support Worker, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs
• Assist with learning, communication, and emotional regulation
• Support teachers in delivering tailored education plans (EHCPs)
• Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
• Encourage positive behaviour and social development
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and parents

We work with a range of supportive mainstream and specialist schools across Basingstoke and Hampshire; all committed to inclusive education and pupil wellbeing.

 What We’re Looking For

• Experience supporting children or young people (SEN, care, youth work, support work or similar)
• Understanding of Special Educational Needs (autism, ADHD, SEMH, etc.); desirable
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
• Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
• A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle; preferred
