Overview

LSEG is looking for a Network Design Engineer to establish successful partnerships with our internal product, engineering, operational and business partners. This is a technical position for someone who can investigate, design, engineer, build and test hybrid on premise and cloud-optimized network designs. The role involves design, engineering, automation and testing to produce infrastructure designs that align with business and architectural requirements.Responsibilities

Follow industry standard design, development and engineering frameworks including planning, design, implementation, engineering, testing, operation and optimization. Articulate infrastructure features and capabilities, translate business requirements into technical requirements, and deliver outcomes that are fit for purpose.Analyze, define, design, construct, test, install and modify accurately engineered network and information systems to meet business needs; evaluate alternative solutions and serve as domain authority between business and IT; ensure architecture supports critical business applications; provide governance and sign off against standards.Participate in multi-functional meetings; act as a consultant to project teams; balance business and technology considerations.Day-to-day: design, engineering and lifecycle management of network solutions (hardware/software); collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams; apply agile methods and provide squad leadership for new network solutions and features across the hybrid infrastructure estate.Required skills and experience

Extensive experience delivering enterprise-scale infrastructure in a similar role.Experience in analysis, functional design and engineering for software-defined infrastructure products.Hands-on vendor knowledge across infrastructure cloud and networking technologies and protocols.Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS, NXOS, IOS-XR; Cisco hardware; Juniper hardware and JUNOS; Accedian NIDs; Ixia test generators; IP routing and switching; MPLS; IP firewalls; load balancers; IP multicast.Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, WAN/LAN, BGP, EIGRP, QoS, Traffic Engineering, SNMP, L2/L3VPN, MPLS.Experience with NFV, NSO, programmable networks; service automation and network transformation; IaC (Ansible/Terraform).Excellent communication, presentation, customer service orientation and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple streams and think customer-first.Experience with developing standards, network testing, certification, test plans and reports; hands-on Cisco IP Routing/Switching in a service provider environment.Knowledge of JIRA, Confluence and GitLab; experience with IaC tooling.Knowledge of cloud services (Azure, AWS, GCP).Desired skills and experience

Financial services experience; real-time/low-latency market data experience.Service orchestration, observability and monitoring platform experience.Programming knowledge (Python preferred).Agile tools (Jira, Git, DevOps principles).AWS/Azure/GCP certifications.About the employer
