Site Manager – Civil Engineering
Location: Plymouth (permanent)
Salary: Up to £50,000 + benefits (DOE)

The Role

We’re recruiting a Site Manager to lead the safe, efficient delivery of civil engineering works across Plymouth and the wider Devon/Cornwall area. You’ll take ownership of day-to-day site operations, driving programme, quality, and HSE performance while coordinating subcontractors and liaising with clients and the wider project team.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead site delivery to programme, budget, and specification
- Champion HSE: site inductions, briefings, RAMS, permits, audits
- Manage subcontractors, labour, plant and materials
- Short-term planning/lookaheads, progress reporting, and records
- Quality control: ITPs, inspections, NCRs, handover documentation
- Interface with clients, designers, and stakeholders to resolve issues promptly

About You

- Proven Site Manager (civils/infrastructure) with main contractor experience
- Strong HSE leadership; confident with RAMS/permits and site compliance
- Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Competent with programmes, reporting and site records
- Full UK driving licence

Qualifications (preferred)

- SMSTS (or equivalent), CSCS
- First Aid at Work
- Temporary Works (Appointed Person/Supervisor) advantageous
