Job Title: Grounds Maintenance Operative Location: Abergavenney - NP7 9AQ Salary: £12.21 per hour Our client is recruiting a number of grounds maintenance operatives for the summer season. Job Purpose: To carry out a wide range of grounds maintenance and environmental services across open spaces, cemeteries, schools, and other designated areas. This role involves working both independently and as part of a team to ensure outdoor environments are clean, safe, and well-maintained for public use. Key Responsibilities: Carry out grass cutting operations using handheld and ride-on equipment across parks, schools, cemeteries, and public spaces. Assist with grave digging and related cemetery duties (subject to appropriate training and certification). Maintain horticultural features including shrub beds and annual bedding areas. Mark out and maintain sports pitches and other recreational facilities. Undertake landscaping and planting activities in open spaces. Perform arboriculture-related tasks as required. Empty litter bins and carry out litter picking duties on verges, hard surfaces, and open spaces (both scheduled and reactive). Respond to fly-tipping reports, following correct procedures for evidence collection and reporting. Carry out daily vehicle checks and ensure vehicles are kept clean and roadworthy.
