Job summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our motivated and enthusiastic team, delivering high-quality care within a
15-bed dedicated inpatient rehabilitation unit .This unit provides specialist rehabilitation for individuals with a range of complex needs, including those on a stroke pathway. You will play a key role in supporting patients through their recovery journey, helping them regain independence and improve quality of life.Responsibilities
Working as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team delivering person-centred rehabilitationContributing to service development alongside a Powys-wide neuro and stroke specialist teamManage a caseload of clients with complex needs using evidence-based, client-centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventionsProvide leadership for junior staff through supervision and appraisalParticipate in planning, development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy services within a designated area/team, and hold responsibility for defined projectsContribute to the maintenance and development of Powys Teaching Health Board Occupational Therapy ServiceRegularly supervise Occupational Therapy students on practice placementsDeputise for Team Leader when necessaryWork flexibly across locality and participate in the 7-day rota to meet service needsProvide cover in other areas/specialities as appropriate and within competenciesAllocate work to support staff, monitoring their skills and competenciesAbout the role
The post holder will provide a specialist OT service within a designated area for Powys Teaching Health Board (PTHB).Qualifications and knowledge
EssentialDiploma or degree in Occupational TherapyHCPC registeredEvidence of significant post-graduate training (e.g., range of short courses, in-house training)Documented evidence of Continuing Professional DevelopmentUp-to-date knowledge of legislationSpecialist knowledge and application of OT assessments and interventions relevant to the client groupUnderstanding of clinical governance and its applicationDesirableEffective teaching and presentation skillsKnowledge of OT models of practice
