Sous Chef

We are looking for an enthusiastic Sous Chef to join our team here at The Lamb in Shipton under Wychwood.We focus on a straightforward, well sourced, wine, beer and spirit selection, Good, classic, nose to tail, British pub style food, Neapolitan style pizzas, plenty of game and offal and very little mucking around.. Not a micro herb in sight and definitely no tweezers.We have built an excellent reputation here in The Cotswolds, with a passion for freshly prepared , often locally sourced food. You will be responsible for:Leading and motivating a team of kitchen staff.Overseeing food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet the restaurants standards.Ensuring food safety and cleanliness regulations are strictly adhered to.Assisting in menu development and maintaining stock levels.Managing kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef.Training and developing junior kitchen staff.Ensuring efficiency and timely service during peak hours.Contributing to maintaining a positive and collaborative kitchen atmosphere.Requirements for Sous Chef:Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Chef de Partie in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen.A strong understanding of kitchen operations and a passion for delivering exceptional food.Excellent leadership and communication skills.Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high standard of quality.Knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations.Creativity and a willingness to innovate.A genuine passion for food and hospitality.A relevant culinary qualification is desirable.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: £40,800 per yearBenefits:Employee discountReferral programme
