To carry out all aspects of insurance credit control for the UK and Ireland branch.To support the Financial Controller and the credit control team with technical knowledge, training and in depth team technical tasks.Develop knowledge and regularly produce accurate team debt reports (weekly and quarterly)Act as team representative within the branch.Key accountabilities

Develop the synchronization and collaboration with the key significant brokers to facilitate the timely collection of debtSupport the Technical accountants within the team to resolve queries and provide in depth knowledge to ensure best practices are metTo accurately process all cash amounts to the appropriate ledger, having agreed the items with the relevant third party. This includes brokers, co-insurers, reinsurers and other third parties, such as loss adjusters etc.To correctly allocate all cash against the respective debt entries on the ledgers (including in the HDI GNP) and to be able to reconcile any balance due to/from the third party to the third party statements.Develop knowledge to promptly and proactively investigate any settlement or accounts queries on the ledgers, liaising with the underwriters, operations technicians and claims teams as appropriate to resolve the queries.To issue accurate and timely statements of account to all third parties, as required in order to facilitate prompt settlement ofTo process accurate cash entries/journals onto the appropriate ledgers, in order to ensure up-to-date statement of accounts are maintained . This will include various inter-company accounts as well as those of thirdTo operate best practice credit control procedures in order to ensure Terms of Trade are met.To proactively participate in topics or other initiatives designed to improve the effectiveness or efficiency of the credit control department.To undertake any other tasks as requested by the Financial Controller in order that the team achieve itsSkills and experience

Strong knowledge of insurance and the terminologies used, across all lines of businessGood interpersonal skills - comfortable with phone and face to face discussions with customers, underwriters, brokers and other internal technical staffExperience of working with credit control teams and understanding their requirementsAble to organise own workload effectively to meet service standardsDeadline focused; able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlinesCompetent user of Excel and WordSystems knowledge, experience of using various company bespoke systems to extract dataOther
