Equity Capital Markets (ECM) Quantrepreneur

A Quantrepreneur is a play on “Quantitative Finance Entrepreneur”. These are entrepreneurs who create data, content, and information products targeted at Capital Markets Participants such as traders, analysts, and portfolio managers. Methods from quantitative finance and domain knowledge in capital markets are often applied in their production.At Intropic, we aim to disrupt financial information by enabling entrepreneurs to develop Financial Data Products and build businesses on the Intropic Platform. Quantrepreneurs typically receive a significant profit share in their business unit as well as substantial equity incentives in the company.Intropic has an established customer base, sales, marketing, data processing infrastructure, and a wealth of financial content for product development. Our support functions such as finance, HR, Talent Acquisition, and Information Security are available to help you focus on delivering a better customer experience.ResponsibilitiesLead teams of Financial Researchers, Engineers and Designers to create targeted Financial Data Products for financial institutions.Oversee the finances of the business unit and develop business plans.Report directly to the founders.What we are looking for
Natural leaders and entrepreneurs who demonstrate going above and beyond, setting examples for others.Experience managing people.Strong technical capabilities, including building APIs and programming skills.Financial domain knowledge or potential to develop a niche area.Business acumen and alignment with the Intropic culture.Background and experience
2–4 years in equity syndicate, ECM desks (sell-side), or on the buy-side within hedge funds or long-only funds, with strong ECM participation.Experience with IPOs, follow-ons, block trades, rights issues, and convertible bond deals.Relationships or familiarity with sell-side syndicate desks and brokers.Exposure to deal pricing dynamics and order book analysis.Skills and Competencies
Ability to evaluate new issue opportunities (IPOs, secondaries) in real-time, including relative valuation.Understanding of the allocation process and how to position funds for allocations.Experience monitoring liquidity and aftermarket trading of newly listed securities.Familiarity with capital raising cycles, sector trends, and market windows.Analytical skills to assess company fundamentals alongside deal momentum and technical factors.Strong Excel and financial analysis skills, with the ability to perform peer comparisons quickly.Python programming skills are highly desirable.What they should have delivered already
Participation in the evaluation and execution of multiple ECM transactions.Ability to make informed calls on deal participation and sizing.Monitoring aftermarket performance and learning from deal outcomes to refine decisions.Contributing ideas to PMs/partners on offerings that align with fund mandates and portfolio positioning.
