ASSOCIATE ECOLOGIST / BNG Overview Our client is a leading engineering and environmental consultancy delivering innovative, sustainable solutions across infrastructure and development projects throughout the UK. Their ecology team works collaboratively across disciplines from the earliest project stages, ensuring biodiversity and nature recovery are embedded at the heart of every scheme. With a team of over 130 ecologists - including senior leaders within Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management - they deliver award-winning habitat creation, research, policy support, and major infrastructure projects. Due to a very busy pipeline of major projects and recent expansion, they are looking to appoint an Associate or Associate Director to play a lead role in the success of the ecological practise. The Role Lead and deliver Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments (feasibility, baseline, and post-works). Mentor and line manage team members. Undertake ecological assessments and habitat design for development and nature recovery projects. Develop pragmatic mitigation and compensation strategies. Author high-quality reports, including Habitat Management and Monitoring Plans (HMMPs). Provide technical quality assurance and act as ecology lead on projects. Manage projects from bid stage through to completion. Support business development and maintain strong client relationships.
