Job Title: Purchasing Manager

Location: Halfiax

Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday

Are you an experienced purchasing professional with a passion for strategizing and leading procurement activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We are seeking a highly motivated Purchasing Manager to oversee and develop our procurement functions, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services essential for production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and implement effective purchasing strategies across the organization.
• Collaborate with the Group Procurement Team to achieve group purchasing goals.
• Manage a raw material procurement budget of approximately -35 million in line with company policies.
• Develop and manage a high-performing purchasing team.
• Negotiate with suppliers on lead times, costs, and payment terms.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels and manage stock records via ERP systems.
• Oversee the accuracy of inventory pricing and Bill of Materials for sales.
• Prepare and present monthly procurement reports.
• Coordinate with various departments to ensure smooth delivery of raw materials.
• Lead quarterly stock audits, analyze variances, and validate stock counts.
• Regularly review supplier performance and service levels.
• Ensure compliance with Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental standards, including ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.
• Travel within the UK and Europe as needed.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Proven experience in procurement within a manufacturing or fast-paced environment.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, procurement software, and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
• Degree-qualified, CIPS certification, or substantial relevant experience.
• Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a procurement team.
