Job ad: legal officer, Rainbow Migration

Rainbow Migration is seeking a Legal Officer to advise and improve the representation of LGBTQI+ people seeking asylum, and to help reform the asylum and immigration system to ensure it treats everyone with compassion, dignity, and respect.The successful candidate will be a qualified solicitor or barrister (authorized to practice without supervision in a legal advice centre) with a valid practicing certificate or accredited to Level 3 OISC with two years’ experience in asylum advice and representation, including legal aid work.Responsibilities include delivering legal advice, building capacity through training, providing second-tier advice, developing a network of practitioners, and contributing to policy work. The role involves occasional casework assistance, policy development, and attending meetings with stakeholders.This position offers an opportunity to develop as a lawyer or caseworker, influencing policy and practice. Starting at £34,000, with potential increases up to £37,970 pro-rata for part-time roles, plus pension contributions.Contract:
