ResponsibilitiesOn behalf of our client we have an excellent opportunity in the technical sales team of this rapidly growing business for an experienced Field-based Area Sales Engineer with a proven track record as a business developer and able to demonstrate successful sales in the Electrical Control and Automation industry. The Sales Engineer will sell a full range of high quality Industrial Control and Automation products, including Control Gear, Switchgear and Circuit Protection, Variable Speed Drives, Sensors, PLC, HMI, Enclosures, Cable Management and consumables, and Process Instrumentation, and provide customised and packaged solutions to OEMs, End Users, System Integrators and Panel Builders across the M62/M180 corridor, West Yorkshire, and parts of Greater Manchester and Cheshire.

Induction and ongoing training will be provided. The successful candidate will have sales and technical experience in the Industrial Automation industry with a track record of sales success. A formal qualification in an Electrical/Electronic discipline is desirable but not essential; however, the ability to demonstrate knowledge and sales skill is required. Further career development training to enhance sales skills is a plus.

As is usual you will be working to achieve defined sales targets and be capable of developing a personal plan to achieve your objectives through managing and further developing an existing portfolio of accounts while constantly striving to identify new avenues of business. You will work Monday to Friday around normal office hours; this is an external sales role requiring road travel, so flexibility is expected to meet business needs. Excellent attributes such as good organisational and communication skills, the ability to be an effective team player while enjoying a level of autonomy are essential, as are capability with Microsoft packages.
