As Head of Project Management Office (PMO), you will oversee and monitor all major council programmes. We are ambitious for Redbridge and have stretching targets to deliver for our residents. You can play a key part in making it happen.

Responsibilities

Provide expert project leadership and quality assurance on a wide range of modernisation programmes; ensure effective project/programme management principles support positive outcomes, value for money and benefits realisation.

Establish and lead an enhanced corporate client-side programme management office capability that gives the Corporate Leadership Team strategic board oversight and intelligence.

Ensure excellent programme governance across all corporate programme activity and apply sound risk management principles to legal, financial and procedural aspects of complex and high-value programmes.

Identify when programmes (or elements) are off track and contribute to remedial measures; monitor responses and progress where improvements have been identified.

Be an enabler who can manage a wide range of complex issues and agendas simultaneously and drive change through influence and diplomacy.

Work with senior managers in a large, diverse, and complex organisation; advise, influence, and, when required, hold to account; develop a detailed understanding of governance and reporting at different levels.

Qualifications

Significant experience of programme, project and portfolio management in a context of organisational change and transformation.

Experience working with senior managers in a large, diverse and complex organisation; ability to advise, influence and, when required, hold to account.

Strong governance knowledge and understanding of how issues are reported and decisions are made at different levels in an organisation.

Highly data-literate with excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills; ability to analyse, calculate and manage risks; attention to detail with a systemic understanding to identify root causes.

Effective facilitation and diplomacy to drive change and align multiple agendas.
