Our globally renowned and respected client has been established for 60 years and specialise in the design, manufacture and support of bespoke in vitro diagnostic solutions for supply throughout the world.
They are seeking to recruit an experienced and self-motivated multi-skilled Field Service Engineer to provide technical customer service and satisfaction in the Installation, Service, Repair and Technical Support of a range of automated laboratory equipment for Clinical and Industrial markets in the Reading region of the UK.
Once trained on the portfolio of solutions, the Field Service Engineer will undertake Installation, Planned Preventative Service, Reactive Repair and Technical Support activities in customer-facing environments including hospitals and laboratories and blue chip FMCG clients. Responsibilities include managing vehicle stock inventory within guidelines and ensuring accurate documentation in line with engineering and service department requirements.
In addition to initial in-house training, you will attend training courses as required to gain or maintain knowledge levels and stay up to date with industry developments. You may be asked to assist with project work to meet deadlines and provide on-call support as part of the Service Team rota. You must comply with all relevant company policies and applicable industry regulations, including Health and Safety at Work, and follow SSOW on site.
To be considered for this Field Service Engineer role, you should hold a full UK driving licence and be qualified to at least ONC level or above in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, with 3+ years of experience in a comparable service or maintenance environment. Laboratory or medical equipment experience is advantageous, and you should demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Attend in-house training and external courses to maintain knowledge and deliver high levels of service.
Provide on-call support as part of the Service Team rota.
Ensure compliance with all relevant company policies, industry regulations, and Health and Safety requirements on site (SSOW).
Qualifications
Full UK driving licence.
Qualified to at least ONC level or above in Electrical / Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
3+ years of experience in a comparable service or maintenance environment; laboratory or medical equipment experience is advantageous.
Excellent communication and customer service skills at all levels.
