We are currently collaborating with a main contractor that specialises in the Responsive repairs, planned maintenance and retrofit projects for local authorities and housing associations.
With offices across the UK the company now employs over 700 skilled operatives and specialists delivering a national solution with a local focus.
Since their inception 20 years ago, the company has grown rapidly having completed works on over 5,000 tenanted properties and now turnover in excess of £80 million offering comprehensive works covering full kitchen and bathroom replacements, electrical rewires, boiler changes, new heating systems, disabled adaptations, external insulated rendering, general roofing, loft insulation, and external environmental works.
RoleOur client is seeking an experienced Retrofit Site Manager to oversee the delivery of retrofit projects across Berkshire. You will be responsible for ensuring sites are run safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards, with works delivered on time, within budget, and in line with programme requirements.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to drive progress while maintaining positive relationships with residents, clients, and subcontractors.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring health and safety, quality, and compliance at all times
Build and maintain strong relationships with residents, clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders
Contribute to project planning, ensuring all parties understand contract requirements, deliverables, and their responsibilities
Keep the Construction Phase Plan up to date under direction of the Project or Contract Manager
Ensure all operatives and visitors are properly inducted and hold the required competencies
Review contract documents, design specifications, permissions, and warranty requirements
Work with the Project/Contract Manager and Planner to agree and manage site programmes
Allocate and coordinate resources effectively, monitoring progress to drive early and cost-efficient project completion
Anticipate potential risks or barriers to delivery, proactively resolving issues before they impact programme
Ensure all required risk assessments and method statements are in place prior to works commencing
Manage material requirements, placing bulk orders where appropriate and minimising waste
Inspect works at key stages, identifying and addressing defects, incomplete, or incorrect works promptly
Direct subcontractors as required, in collaboration with the Project/Contract Manager and Surveyor, ensuring works are carried out efficiently without unnecessary costs
