Mechanical Fixed Plant Technician – Static Plant - Cranes, Bulk Handling
Training can be provided to work on cranes in the on-site training school.
Package: £50,371 - Basic: £44,697 + Supplements (£5,674) + Annual Bonus + benefits and overtime x 1.25
The supplements are split into two sections. The first is payable on start or employment, and the second is task-specific and paid on completion of an external wire rope course, usually completed within 3-6 months of joining, depending on course offerings.
Hours: Mon-Fri: 07.30–16.30

Our client has a requirement for suitably qualified and experienced technicians to work within our Engineering Department, based in Avonmouth.
The role is to maintain cranes and fully automated bulk handling systems.
A background in medium to heavy industry, such as steel, rail, ports, power generation, or repair and overhaul workshops, would be a good fit.
The role will include the following activities:
- Complete planned, corrective, and reactive maintenance work in a number of different environments.
- Liaise with operations to prioritise rectification of unserviceable machinery using fault finding diagnostic methodologies and equipment; minimising reactive maintenance.
- Ensure completion of documentation including daily logs and maintenance work orders.
- Carry out duties with due care and attention, adhering to the companies Health & Safety Policy and HSE regulations.
- Upholding the highest standards and practices in mechanical work.
- Demonstrating commitment to multi-skilled activity and team work.
- Demonstrating an excellent attitude to our continuous improvement culture, bringing new ideas to the team to enable smarter working, rather than harder working!
Desirable Background
- Preferably qualified to HNC level in a suitable Engineering subject or equivalent qualification, or be a time served apprentice in a relevant trade.
- Previous experience working with large gearboxes, couplings, motors and conveyor belting systems.
- Ability to work with Computer Maintenance Management Systems via hand held tablets.
- A full driving licence and your own transport are essential.
- The role requires the individual to be happy and confident at height with open mesh flooring.

- On rare occasions, you may be asked to cover other shifts, including weekends – you will work your core hours 99% of the time
