We are looking for an inspiring and creative School Barber Teacher to join our team and deliver tailored interventions for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is a unique teaching role that blends barbering skills with education and mentoring, using practical, hands-on learning to build trust, boost self-esteem, and re-engage pupils with school life.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging barbering sessions as part of SEMH interventions.
• Use the barbering environment to develop pupils'' confidence, communication, and social skills.
• Support individual pupils and small groups, linking interventions to their personal development plans.
• Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to support progress.
• Promote positive behaviour, resilience, and life skills through teaching and mentoring.
• Track outcomes and contribute to reports on pupil progress.

Person Specification:

• Barbering qualification (Level 2/3 or equivalent).
• Experience in teaching, training, or mentoring young people.
• Knowledge and understanding of SEMH needs in an educational context.
• Strong classroom/behaviour management skills.
• Empathy, patience, and the ability to engage and motivate hard-to-reach learners.
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply).
