The post is a locum consultant post in anaesthesia based at The Royal London Hospital; the successful candidate may be asked to cover surgical lists at Barts or Mile End Hospital if required. The post holder will be an employee of Barts Health and there may be future opportunities or requirements to work at one of the other hospitals in the Barts Health group. This is a fixed-term post for a locum consultant anaesthetist with an interest in paediatric anaesthesia. There will be the opportunity to work in adult anaesthesia sessions if appropriate.The appointee must be able to work flexibly and be able to cover all the specialties provided for at The Royal London Hospital.Applicants should possess full GMC registration, and either be on the Specialist Register or be within 6 months of receiving their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at the time of interview.About us

Qualifications/ Clinical Skills

Full GMC Registration with a ''Licence to Practice''MBBS or MBChB or equivalentCCT in anaesthesia (or Equivalent) or, if in training within 6 months of CCTFRCA (or equivalent)APLS/EPLS providerSIA (or equivalent Higher training) in paediatric anaesthesiaExperience of UK healthcare systemPost-CCT experience in paediatric anaesthesiaFellowship or equivalent Advanced training in paediatric anaesthesiaALS providerLevel 3 Child Protection trainingSpecial Knowledge/ Abilities and/or Experience

Extensive experience in a wide variety of paediatric anaesthesiaExperience in the management of paediatric major traumaExperience in the peri-operative care of patients including pain managementExperience in independent delivery of anaesthesia for complex neonatal and paediatric patientsExperience in anaesthesia for adult patients, including adults with learning disabiltiesPersonal Skills/ Qualities
