The Role

As an Assistant Planner, you''ll play a key role in supporting planning projects across Cornwall and beyond. You will:

  • Assist with preparing, submitting, and managing planning applications

  • Conduct research, site appraisals, and feasibility studies

  • Support senior planners with client engagement, stakeholder liaison, and planning strategies

  • Draft reports, correspondence, and supporting documentation for planning submissions

  • Contribute to a variety of projects across residential, agricultural, and land development sectors

  • Gain exposure to the planning process from pre-application advice to appeals and enforcement



About You

We''re looking for a motivated individual who is keen to grow and develop in a professional planning environment. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Town Planning or related discipline (RTPI accredited or working towards accreditation)

  • Strong research, written, and communication skills

  • An interest in property, land, and development planning

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

  • A proactive, positive approach with a genuine interest in developing a career in planning
