The Role
As an Assistant Planner, you''ll play a key role in supporting planning projects across Cornwall and beyond. You will:
Assist with preparing, submitting, and managing planning applications
Conduct research, site appraisals, and feasibility studies
Support senior planners with client engagement, stakeholder liaison, and planning strategies
Draft reports, correspondence, and supporting documentation for planning submissions
Contribute to a variety of projects across residential, agricultural, and land development sectors
Gain exposure to the planning process from pre-application advice to appeals and enforcement
About You
We''re looking for a motivated individual who is keen to grow and develop in a professional planning environment. The ideal candidate will have:
A degree in Town Planning or related discipline (RTPI accredited or working towards accreditation)
Strong research, written, and communication skills
An interest in property, land, and development planning
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
A proactive, positive approach with a genuine interest in developing a career in planning
