The role operates as part of the Energy and Sustainable Cities Business Line.Job Description
Reporting to the Water Project Management Delivery Lead for the UK, the Senior Project Manager will deliver work with water companies or the Environment Agency in the Midlands area, predominantly in consultancy roles. There will be opportunity for progression between UK water, environment, rail or nuclear sectors.Knowledge and experience in pre- and post-contract management in NEC 3 or NEC 4 ECC forms and procurement within the UK water, environment, rail or nuclear sectors are required. The Senior Project Manager will drive efficiencies, effective supply chain engagement and contract management. Experience with Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) and/or Early Subcontractor Involvement (ESI) in design and build major capital programmes is desirable.We support personal growth and development, including access to training courses and a path to chartership or other career development opportunities.Role Responsibilities
NEC3/4 Option A, Option C, Option E ECC Contract management and administration on the client sideBudget controlCollaborating with the Quantity Surveyor on payment valuations and certifying monthly payments under ECC and PSC forms of the NEC 4Actual cost forecasting and Defined Cost determination in collaboration with the QSEstablishing and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholdersEnsuring project management and commercial records are maintained in line with contract requirements and addressing contractual issuesDrafting contract communications and notices including Early Warning Notices and Compensation EventsPre-Contract Activities
Conduct initial project scope planning, cost estimates and feasibility studiesPreparation of tender documentationEvaluation of tendersIdentify potential risks and develop mitigation strategiesCollaborate with contractors early in the design phasePost-Contract Activities
Manage and administer construction contractsMonitor project expenditure and manage cash flowLead the evaluation and negotiation of change orders or variationsClaims and dispute resolutionFinal accounts and post-project evaluationQualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a numeric fieldFull Membership of a chartered body such as APM at MAPMExtensive postgraduate experience in Rail, Nuclear, Water and/or Environment sectorsLine management and recruitment experience of Project Managers or Assistant Project ManagersCDM regulation knowledge and experienceRisk management experienceValid CSCS card, Water Hygiene Card desirableMain contractor and/or joint venture experience on the client sideExperienced user of the NEC3-4 suite of contracts (A-C-E)You must have the right to work in the UKAdditional Information
