We are seeking applicants to join our Mental Health Support Team Kirklees Keep In Mind who cover all of the schools in Kirklees. This is an exciting time to join our team which deliver evidence based interventions to children within our schools with mild to moderate mental health conditions. Focusing on early intervention we also provide training and workshops to schools using the whole school approach, which enables schools to provide a culture of wellbeing for all their pupils.
You will be enrolled in the Post Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Practice in Education Settings qualification at the University of Sheffield. During term time you will be required to attend the university for two days per week for 12 months.

Main duties of the job
In this role you will go to university and have time in service where you put the theory you learn into practice providing low intensity CBT interventions to young people and their families with mild to moderate mental health conditions under the expert supervision of our senior staff.
You will deliver workshops and assemblies as required by schools on a variety of subjects according to the need of their students.
You will develop and form relationships with key wellbeing staff within the schools to promote and provide support in accessing our service.
You will work collaboratively with the wider MHST (KKIM) team including parent and community workers, educational psychologists and engagement officers to develop knowledge in all areas of holistic care.
You will form links with external agencies to increase your knowledge of services available in this area. You will use this knowledge to inform the team and to utilise when signposting young people.
You will be involved in co-delivering parent workshops to equip parents with the tools to manage their children''s anxieties and worries.

Job Description and Person Specification
Essential Qualifications:
Diploma level qualification or equivalent experience; proven academic record or prior learning in Child Development, Well-being or Mental Health; English and Maths at Level 2.
Desirable Qualifications:
Relevant Degree; Teaching or education qualification.
Essential Experience:
Previous experience with children and young people and their families in Health or Education settings; experience with social, emotional and/or behavioural difficulties.
Desirable Experience:
Experience in healthcare or education settings; multiagency working.
Skills and Competencies:
Excellent oral and written communication; self-motivated learner; ability to monitor progress toward learning objectives.
Desirable Skills:
Engaging with children, young people and families; ability to work collaboratively with parents, colleagues and partner agencies.
Physical Attributes:
Ability to undertake the duties and demands of the post; satisfactory sickness record in the last 2 years.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of the English educational system; knowledge of child development, wellbeing or mental health.
Desirable Knowledge:
Knowledge of safeguarding, capacity and consent issues, and whole school approach to mental health.
