Competitive (dependent on experience)Actemium Automation is seeking an experienced Senior Control Systems Engineer to join our team. This role offers a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in control systems engineering, enjoying a mix of on-site and home working.

What You’ll Do:The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, testing, and commissioning control systems for our clients, working closely with customers and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.Your daily tasks will include:Leading the design, review, and testing of control systems, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and industry standards.Acting as the main point of contact for customers and internal teams, facilitating clear communication and project efficiency.Designing, testing, and commissioning control systems according to specifications, standards, and safety regulations.Overseeing onsite commissioning and testing activities, ensuring compliance with site-specific regulations and quality standards.Supervising and providing technical guidance to design, build, and installation teams.Supporting project planning, effort estimation, and tracking progress with Project Managers.Contributing to tendering processes through cost estimation and technical proposals.Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance project efficiency.Serving as a technical expert, mentoring junior engineers, and sharing knowledge.What You Bring:Qualifications: HNC/HND/Degree in a relevant discipline with at least 10 years of experience in systems integration (or 15+ years with lower qualifications).Extensive experience in PLC-based control systems, including architecture and programming (PLC, HMI, SCADA).Knowledge of industrial control systems, including control panel design, CandI system design, and commissioning.Understanding of machinery safety standards and compliance.Experience with onsite commissioning of complex control systems.Preferred sectors include Food, Pharmaceutical/Fine Chemical, and Material Handling/Logistics industries.Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and adapt.Ability to mentor junior engineers and foster continuous improvement.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Why Join Us?At Actemium, we value our people and offer competitive rewards, including:Salary based on experienceDiscretionary annual bonus25 days holiday plus bank holidays and additional leave for length of serviceHealth shield cash planEV car purchase schemePension contributions up to 7%VINCI share scheme (after 6 months of service)Death in service insuranceA supportive and dynamic team with strong valuesWho We AreWe’re Actemium Automation Nottingham, a leading UK provider in industrial automation, specializing in:Conceptual design and consultancyControl system engineering and manufacturingSoftware developmentFull project managementAs part of VINCI Energies, a global leader with over 220,000 employees across 120 countries, we offer stability and local agility.Ready to Make a Move?If you’re motivated, innovative, and looking for your next challenge, we want to hear from you!
