The School
A well-established and inclusive primary school in the Bethnal Green area of Tower Hamlets is seeking a dedicated Primary Class Teacher to join their team from September 2026.
The school has a strong reputation for its nurturing ethos and commitment to pupil progress, particularly in Key Stage 1. There is a clear focus on early reading, phonics, and language development, supported by a structured and well-resourced curriculum.
Staff work closely within year group teams, sharing planning and best practice to ensure consistency across classes. Leadership is supportive and places a strong emphasis on staff wellbeing and manageable workloads.
The Role
The successful Primary Class Teacher will take responsibility for a Year 2 class, guiding pupils through a key stage in their development and preparing them for end of KS1 assessments in a supportive and balanced way.
This is a long-term position with the opportunity to move onto a permanent contract.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons aligned with the KS1 curriculum
- Supporting pupils'' development in phonics, reading, writing and maths
- Assessing progress and adapting teaching to meet individual needs
- Creating a positive, structured classroom environment
- Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and year group colleagues
The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for a Primary Class Teacher who:
- Holds QTS and has recent UK primary teaching experience
- Has a strong understanding of KS1, particularly phonics and early literacy
- Maintains high expectations for behaviour and attainment
- Is organised, proactive and reflective in their practice
- Works effectively as part of a team
