Blue Diamond Recruitment is working exclusively with a leading land promotion company seeking a Planning Manager. Based in London and focusing on sites across the southern patch (everything south of the M4 and M25). This is an exciting opportunity for a professional at Senior Planner, Associate, Principal or Planning Manager level, looking to step into a broader role with more responsibility where they can hit the ground running.The Planning Manager will report directly to the Planning Director and will drive forward the planning function. Responsibilities include appraising new land opportunities, managing planning applications and supporting appeals when necessary. The role directly influences the business’s success in unlocking strategic land for residential and mixed-use development, working with internal teams, local authorities, external consultants, and landowners.Responsibilities

Appraise and assess new land promotion opportunities across the southern regionLead the preparation, submission, and management of planning applicationsCoordinate and manage consultant teams to deliver robust planning strategiesHandle complex planning negotiations with local planning authoritiesSupport and manage planning appeals when necessaryLiaise regularly with landowners, agents, and internal teams to update on planning progressQualifications

Currently operating at Senior Planner or Planning Manager level within a consultancy, house builder or land promoterStrong understanding of the planning system and strategic land promotionExperience of managing large applications and dealing with appealsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects across a wide geographical patchSalary and Benefits
