This is a progressive opportunity for a Management Accountant or Finance Manager who wants to step up into a Financial Controller role in the near future.

You''ll be joining a specialist engineering business operating within the subsea and offshore sector, supporting complex, project-led work across a global client base.
The business has built a strong reputation in its field and continues to grow, creating the need for a more robust and forward-thinking finance function.

This is a critical hire for the team. You''ll play a key role in strengthening and supporting finance from day one. Reporting to the Head of Finance, a supportive and collaborative leader who has recently joined the business, you''ll also work closely with the Finance Director, giving you excellent exposure to senior leadership.

What you''ll be doing

• Owning the month-end process and producing full management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, including group consolidation)
• Supporting weekly and monthly project reporting, working closely with operational teams
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Leading on audit preparation and liaising with external auditors
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management
• Improving processes, controls and systems as the finance function evolves
• Supporting the day-to-day running of finance, including mentoring junior staff
• Providing analysis and insight to support decision making and long-term planning

What you''ll need

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified
• Proven experience owning month-end end-to-end
• A hands-on approach
• Strong Excel and systems skills (Business Central desirable but ot essentail)
• Experience working in a project environment (desirable but not essential)
• The confidence to support and influence across the business
