GRP Laminator
Location: Coventry
Pay: £12.50 – £14.50 per hour (DOE)


 We are currently recruiting an experienced GRP Laminator for one of our clients based in the Coventry area. This is an excellent opportunity to join a skilled production team working on a diverse range of products, including showers, baths, and automotive components.

 
 Role Overview 
Working in a team environment, you will manufacture high-quality GRP components in line with lay-up specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements. You will work across a range of products including showers, baths, and automotive components, using your laminating skills and ability to interpret lay-up drawings to meet production demands.

 
Working Hours (37.5-hour working week):

 

• Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 16:00 (including 30-minute lunch)
  
  
• Friday: Early finish at 13:00
  
  

Due to workload requirements, you may be asked to interchange between departments as needed.


Key Responsibilities 
Production Duties:

• Preparing moulds ready for gel coating
• Reading and understanding lay-up specifications and drawings
• Application of gel coat
• Performing a range of laminating processes, including wet lay-up and spray lamination
• Cutting fiberglass materials and mixing resins and hardeners
• Applying materials using rollers and brushes to remove air pockets and ensure a smooth finish
• Identifying laminating defects
• Use of core materials and generic bonding pastes
• Releasing simple moulds
• Use and control of patterns and jigs
• Trimming and polishing of components where required
• Basic housekeeping duties
• Recording daily time spent on jobs using timesheets
• Correct use of PPE at all times
• Maintaining a thorough understanding of GRP laminating and associated quality processes

 Desirable Skills & Experience 

• Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to tasks

• Solid understanding of GRP laminating processes, including trimming and grinding
  
  
• Understanding of quality control processes
