The Tax Department reports to the Chief Financial Officer and handles all tax-related matters including tax structuring, compliance, planning, and accounting.We seek an experienced counsel or SVP in tax structuring to join our London office, overseeing tax matters for EMEA funds and investors. This role reports to the Head of Tax in NYC and is part of the Finance team.Responsibilities include:Developing tax-efficient strategies in collaboration with legal, compliance, portfolio managers, and product teams to optimize investment returns.Advising on new products, funds, and investment mandates for proper structuring, considering tax costs and risks.Reviewing fund documents, transaction agreements, and side letters for tax implications.Managing cross-border investments and analyzing tax implications.Researching complex tax issues and providing recommendations.Providing tax risk assessments for investment committees.Responding to due diligence, RFPs, and investor tax inquiries.Supporting tax audits in EMEA and maintaining industry relationships.Developing policies, procedures, and ensuring compliance in tax matters.Participating in MandA and strategic initiatives within EMEA.Monitoring tax legislation, including EU and OECD updates, and advising business leaders.Managing relationships with external tax advisors.Qualifications and Experience:Over 10 years of experience in fund tax structuring.Experience with law firms or Big 4 firms; qualifications such as solicitor, CTA, or ACA/ACCA preferred.Expertise in fund formation, carry planning, transfer pricing, withholding tax, VAT/GST, and global mobility.Knowledge of international tax laws in EMEA and compliance oversight.Experience with both public and private funds.Strategic, technical, and business-oriented mindset.Collaborative, accountable, and able to see projects through.Self-motivated with strong organizational skills.Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams.Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.Understanding of US tax considerations is a plus but not required.Neuberger Berman is an equal opportunity employer.
