We are looking for an experienced Head Chef to join the team at the Science Museum.Our catering outlets are open 7 days a week to serve our customers freshly made lunches sucha as sandwiches, pizzas, salads and cakes.The Head Chef will oversee all aspects of food production acress the museum, including cafes, The Diner restaurant, and event catering.We Offer:Salary: £42,000 - £45,000 per annumShifts: 5 days out of 7 (mostly daytime)Contract: PermanentAbout the Head Chef role:To plan, organise and direct the kitchen team to deliver exceptional fresh and seasonal food to specification, ensuring that we never compromise on taste and qualityTo drive sales and monitor costs through responsibly ordering via quality and preferred suppliersTo be responsible for all aspects of food safety, health and safety and COSHHTo manage rotas and scheduling accordingly to the business needsTo coach, train and develop theteamTo work closely with the group Executive Chef on menu developmentThe ideal candidate will be:Passionate about designing, creating and delivering exceptional food dishesExperienced working within a high volume kitchenCommercially aware- i.e understanding or profit margins, purchasing, budgets, labour, food costsAdditional Information
