Bracknell Forest Borough Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Older People''s Mental Health (OPMH) service on a temporary contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Social Worker with 2+ years'' post-qualifying experience to work within a supportive local authority team, applying strength-based and person-centred practice to improve outcomes for residents.

Key Responsibilities
- Apply a strength-based approach to support individuals by connecting them with their communities and social networks.
- Work collaboratively with service users, carers and advocates to develop person-centred, outcome-focused care plans that maximise independence, choice and control.
- Act in the best interests of individuals lacking capacity, in line with the Mental Capacity Act (2005).
- Support the arrangement, implementation and review of person-centred plans.
- Operate within relevant legislation, national and local policy, and social work best practice.
- Maintain accurate and timely case recording, sharing information appropriately in line with legislation and local procedures.
- Undertake the role of Safeguarding Assessing Officer where required.
- Participate in the Duty Rota.
- Manage a caseload appropriate to experience and service needs.
- Take an active role in professional supervision.
- Be professionally accountable for all aspects of practice.
Requirements
- Social Work qualification (Degree / DipSW / equivalent)
- Social Work England registration
- Minimum 2 years'' post-qualifying experience
- Experience within Older People''s Mental Health and/or Adult Social Care
- Strong knowledge of Mental Capacity Act and safeguarding legislation
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively to a team
