The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and furthering the educational needs of children and young people remotely.Who are we?Calon Cymru Fostering is a specialist fostering agency with over 25 years of experience. We work hard to ensure children experience love, care, nurture and stability with our carers.The RoleCalon Cymru Fostering has an opportunity for a passionate, knowledgeable and experienced Education Support Worker to join the Cardiff team, covering south and east Wales.We are looking for a dedicated and dependable individual to promote and further the educational needs of children and young people in our foster placements. The role involves direct work with children who are not attending school full time, often as a result of behavioural issues linked to early experiences of neglect, trauma and rejection.The post holder will provide support with schoolwork in the foster home and educational activities in the community. They may be required to work with children in school in order to assist with re-integration into a classroom setting and to support school staff in becoming attachment and trauma aware, in conjunction with Calon Cymru’s therapeutic fostering service.The successful candidate will need to be able to establish objectives, and plan and deliver a range of support services which promote longevity and stability levels within placements.
