An ambitious and forward-thinking secondary school in Chesham is seeking an enthusiastic and committed English Teacher to join their team from September 2025. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and creative English lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering a lifelong love of literature, language, and effective communication.
About the Role:
- Plan and deliver stimulating, curriculum-aligned English lessons that engage and challenge students
- Differentiate teaching approaches to meet the diverse needs and abilities of all learners
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback and intervention to support achievement
- Contribute to the development of the English curriculum and participate in whole-school literacy initiatives
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages high expectations, respect, and excellent behaviour
The ideal candidate will:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
- Demonstrated experience teaching English within a secondary school setting
- Strong subject knowledge in English literature and language, coupled with a passion for inspiring students
- Confident classroom management with the ability to foster a positive and productive learning environment
- A collaborative approach and a commitment to continuous professional growth and self-improvement
