SEN Teaching Assistant
Your new companyDesian Education are proud to be working in collaboration with a St Helen''s based single-form entry primary school that has great transport links and is easily accessible via public transport as they are looking to appoint a reliable and motivated teaching assistant for a full-time temporary contract. This role will commence on 13/04/2026 and will last until at least the end of this academic year due to additional funding.Your new roleAs a teaching assistant within this school you will be joining a highly experienced EYFS cohort. You will work in partnership with the class teacher to promote the engagement and learning of your new pupils by utilising an array of learning equipment and breaking down learning as required. You promote the social, emotional and fine motor skills development of your pupils by planning and delivering learn through play and guided writing sessions. The class you will be based in does have a high level of SEN so you will be required to support on a 1:1 basis and tailor your approach to suit behavioural and neurodivergent requirement. Other duties will include:Deliver phonics sessions/assessmentsImplement positive behaviour strategiesPersonal and intimate careSupporting during break and lunch timesDelivering forest and OPAL curriculumWhat you need to succeedFull "Right to Work" in the UKBe able to commit to a long-term full-time contractHave good knowledge of the EYFS national curriculum (OPAL and forest is advantageous)Be at least ..... full job details .....
