Curiosity and continuous learning underpin success at IBM Consulting, with opportunities for long-term career growth in an environment that respects diverse skills and experiences.Your Role And ResponsibilitiesIBM is seeking an experienced Service Designer with a robust background in Government Digital Service (GDS) and User-Centered Design (UCD) to support a public sector client. The successful candidate will contribute to transformative digital transformation projects, ensuring alignment with GDS standards and user needs.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign concept journeys, blueprints, and roadmaps that communicate how the total user experience can be elevated beyond the immediate product or service.Facilitate end-to-end user journeys by mapping the orchestration of events at the intersection of technology, business and design.Shape how behind-the-scenes processes and support functions interact with each other and how these impact the design process.Embed design practices within organizations to sustain user-focused service delivery.Collaborate with User Researchers to generate insights from users, staff and stakeholders to form a holistic view of the total user experience.Analyse, consolidate, and communicate research findings to stakeholders to frame and quantify problems and inform the wider strategic roadmap.Qualifications and ExperienceThe ideal candidate will have a proven track record in service design within a government or public sector context, with strong expertise in GDS and UCD. You must be able to hold or gain a UK government security clearance.EducationBachelor''s DegreeRequired Technical And Professional ExpertiseService Design: Lead the design of complex digital services and experiences for public sector needs, including service blueprints and user journeys.GDS Compliance: Ensure designs adhere to GDS guidelines (Service Manual and Digital Principles) and stay updated on current GDS strategies.UCD: Apply user-centered design methodologies, conduct user research and usability testing, iterate based on feedback.Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to implement design solutions.Training and Mentoring: Share knowledge of service design, GDS, and UCD with internal teams and stakeholders.Project Delivery: Manage digital projects from concept to launch and beyond, ensuring user needs and GDS standards are met.Preferred Technical And Professional ExperienceProven service design experience in a government or public sector context.Proficiency with design tools (e.g., Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma) and prototyping tools (e.g., InVision, Marvel, Proto.io).Knowledge of Agile/Scrum and working in an Agile environment.Familiarity with GDS Service Manual and Digital Principles.UCD certifications are desirable but not mandatory.Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.SeniorityMid-Senior levelJob Type and FunctionFull-timeDesign, Art/Creative, ITIndustries: IT Services and IT Consulting
